It may be fully un-British to chortle about any one else’s type options (we Brits are much as well polite for that), but I will say that as a Brit living in Los Angeles for above 12 a long time, I’ve picked up on certain American sartorial tendencies that I’ve uncovered alternatively unique and amusing. I recall currently being taken aback on my initial brunch day in Santa Monica where everybody appeared like they had just stepped out of the gym (minus the sweat, of program). This is a far cry from the Uk, where you would hardly ever meet up with pals for lunch in yoga pants or athletics gear if you are not really planning to do sporting activities. (Whole disclosure: 12 many years later on, I now search like I go to the gymnasium also.)
While we love expressing our adoration for classic French type here on Who What Have on, it is the Brits who acquire much more type threats, exude an edgier aesthetic, and are decidedly personal in their design options. British Vogue’s procuring editor, Joy Montgomery, describes some of the essential attributes of British fashion: “Eccentricity would have to be at the prime of the record. Though we marvel at New Yorker’s skilled polish or L.A.’s laid-back interesting, we Brits have a selected nerdy quirkiness that manifests in chunky, hand-knitted jumpers, heritage materials, and off-conquer accessories—we championed ‘ugly’ tendencies way just before they strike the mainstream. Our muses contain Alexa Chung, Vivienne Westwood, and Cara Delevingne—all incredibly bizarre in their very own ways still also undeniably cool.”
