Second half goals from Trent Alexander Arnold and Sadio Mane secured Liverpool a well-deserved victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds’ title defence had been left in tatters following a five-game winless run where they had scored just one goal, but they put that right against a team they have enjoyed beating in recent years.

A 482-minute goal drought was ended by Roberto Firmino on the stroke of half-time, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Sadio Mane bagging after the break to make it seven successive wins against Spurs.

Two men are arrested for attack on private investigator Jack Palladino

Two men have been arrested in connection to the attempted robbery and attack on prominent private detective Jack Palladino, as his family says his life support has been switched off and he’s not expected to survive more than a few days.

On Sunday city officials announced Tyjone Flournoy, 23, and Lawrence Thomas, 24, had been arrested for the Thursday attack where they tried to pull an expensive camera from Palladino’s neck after he left his home.

The detective may have inadvertently helped detectives, after he snapped pictures of the suspects trying to steal the camera.

Palladino is famous for taking on a slew of celebrity and political cases. He was hired by Bill Clinton in 1992
