Promising Young Woman: Yes, 30-Year-Old Cassie Dresses Like an Urban Outfitters Kid

Carey Mulligan plays Cassandra in comedy-thriller Promising Young Woman, which is about a 30-year-old woman who has been deeply affected and broken by her past. “[Cassie’s] clothing that she wears during the daytime is a disguise and a costume . . . because she’s trying to come off as this sweet, girlie, feminine, candy-colored lady, in a way to avoid confrontation.”

A stylist with an eye for affordable fashion has sent women racing to buy a $30 Kmart midi-dress that’s comfortable enough to run errands in while still being sufficiently glamorous for dinner or a night on the town.

Tina Abeysekara, 34, from Sydney, raved about the frock in an Instagram post, telling her 112,000 followers it’s ‘incredibly comfy’ and perfect for summer.

The ‘Sleeveless Tiered Midi’ – which comes in a mango colour called ‘guava’ – usually costs $30 but shoppers say they have seen it reduced to $10 in stores across Australia.

Available in sizes six to 20, the cotton dress has a square neck that is suitable for most bust sizes and a tiered silhouette that hangs loose over the body, in a flattering style for every shape.

How Kristen Wiig transformed into Cheetah for ‘Wonder Woman 1984’

Spoiler alert! The following post contains light spoilers for the new movie “Wonder Woman 1984.”

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – In the top level of an old mall turned into a vibrant 1980s shopping center for “Wonder Woman 1984,” Kristen Wiig has poured herself into a lacy, form-fitting black dress accessorized with some seriously high heels. She’s light years from the drab discount-store couture she wore as Target Lady on “Saturday Night Live.”

“You look amazing,” an employee tells Wiig’s character, Barbara Minerva, who’s doing some shopping for a gala event and checking herself out. “Do you think it’s too tight?” Wiig asks, leading her helper to confirm that “it’s just right.”

“Wow,” a self-impressed Barbara tells the woman. “I’ll take it.”
